I am now at the point of launching Google Apps for Education with my sixth graders. With the majority of permission slips in and the accounts created there is no holding back. This is where jumping in without any real planning starts to show. I have to rethink a lot of what I do and how I do it. Assignments have to change. Planning at this stage involves trying to merge old and new. My classes usually have "The Idiom of the Week" as a homework assignment and I keep thinking that I could change it a little to use as a recurring assignment to help the students get comfortable with Google Apps. Actually, (flash to a SAMR model!) I could use my "Idiom of the Week" to progress through a SAMR model. The first two steps are easy, but the true change in my classroom will only come when I accomplish the other two levels.
