Permission required, permission granted

After signing up my school and freaking out, I got to work setting things up. I made a permission slip for the parents of my students and included the responsibilities of students, teachers and parents on the back.  I wanted to let the parents know that by signing permission they were taking on the responsibility of making sure that the account was used for educational purposes only, even at home.

When handing out permission slips, I take the time to read it through with the class answering any questions they may have so that they can then do the same for their parents. I have to admit, I spent a little more time selling my idea and the students all seemed interested in getting their parents' permission.  I guess that would be why I was surprised by one student's question,"What should our parents do if they don't agree?"  All our permission slips tend to have the same format so I simply stated that parents simply had to check the "I do not allow my son/daughter..."
To which the student replied, "Miss, it's not there!" Looking at the paper I realized that I wrote both options as I allow.

I guess I really wanted them to say yes!

I fixed the blunder right before their eyes in Google Docs, thanked my student, and sent them all home with a proper permission slip.
